The device sits inside the consumer unit and is designed to activate automatically in the unlikely event of a fire developing within the enclosure. Once activated, it releases a fire-suppressing aerosol to help extinguish the fire and limit damage.
Modern consumer units are already designed with multiple safety features, including RCBO protection and surge protection devices. This additional device simply provides another layer of protection and peace of mind.
